Interested in eating healthier and feeling better? Intermountain Health is offering a free, “bite-sized” class, both virtually and in person, as part of the Way to Wellness diabetes prevention program.
Intermountain Health’s Way to Wellness Bites classes will teach principles of healthy eating and intuitive eating to help people get on a path to healthier eating and improve their mental health and physical wellness. The classes are free of charge.
“Food is a lifestyle, and making big dietary changes can be a challenge,” said Carly Alba, a registered dietitian nutritionist at Intermountain Medical Center. “Way to Wellness Bites classes help people learn how to make a few small adjustments to their diet that can make a huge difference in overall wellness. And they’re free.” The 90-minute Way to Wellness Bites, facilitated by a registered dietitian, will be held on the following days:
- July 11: Utah Valley Hospital, “Principles of Healthy Eating”
- July 15: Virtual, “Principles of Healthy Eating”
- August 6: Intermountain Medical Center, “Intuitive Eating”
Way to Wellness Bites offer participants a taste of Intermountain Health’s year-long CDC-approved diabetes prevention program, Way to Wellness.
Facilitated by a registered dietitian, Way to Wellness uses evidence-based methods to increase physical activity and improve nutrition to address health concerns like prediabetes, diabetes, heart disease, and other weight-related chronic conditions.
The year-long Way to Wellness program, which comes with ample support, resources, and education, is often covered by commercial insurance plans.
The yearlong, virtual, Way to Wellness course begins Wednesday, July 17. Classes are weekly.
