Mississippi attorney charged with sneaking cell phones, other contraband into jail

A Mississippi attorney is facing charges for allegedly sneaking contraband into a correctional facility by pretending to be prisoners' legal counsel.

Daniel Sidney Dale is accused of bringing cell phones, cigar wraps and other contraband into a Hinds County, Mississippi jail. A spokesperson for the Hinds County Sheriff's Office says Dale "jeopardized the safety and integrity" of the facility and the public.

Authorities say they discovered Dale with the contraband during a visitation Thursday afternoon. He was promptly detained and questioned before being charged with two counts of conspiracy and three counts ofintroduction of contraband to a correctional facility.

TheHinds County Sheriff's Office says there may be more arrests in the case as authorities continue to investigate.
