For the eighth consecutive year, Utah has been ranked as the worst state in the nation for women's equality, according to WalletHub's annual report, which evaluates over a dozen key indicators, including economic participation, educational attainment, health outcomes, and political representation.

This ranking highlights the ongoing challenges women face in the state and underscores the need for significant progress in achieving gender equality.

However, amidst these challenges, there is a glimmer of hope.

This week, 100 Utah companies will be recognized by the Governor’s office for their dedicated efforts to address this critical issue.

These businesses are stepping up to make a difference and create a more equitable environment for women in the workplace.

One standout among these companies is Vasion with offices in St. George and Lehi. Known for its innovative print automation solutions, Vasion is making headlines not just for its cutting-edge technology but also for its commitment to advancing women in the tech industry.

Melissa Knotts, the chief people officer at Vasion, spoke to Kari Hawker-Diaz about Vasion's work.
