MORRO BAY, Calif. (KMPH) — The body of a missing 49-year-old woman was found in California, according to authorities.
Tiffany McClure's body was recovered by the U.S. Coast Guard in the ocean off the coast of Morro Bay on Monday around 7:15 p.m., the Morro Bay Police Department said in a statement posted on social media.
Police said the Coast Guard was conducting a routine patrol when she was spotted.
The Morro Bay Police Department was contacted, and with the assistance of Morro Bay Harbor Patrol and the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office, McClure's body was recovered. The sheriff's office identified the body.
Based on evidence and statements obtained during the investigation, police said there is no indication of foul play at this time.
Authorities previously said McClure,of Tulare, went missing from Tulare on July 22. Her car was later found in Morro Bay, but she remained missing.
Police said a thorough investigation has been conducted by both the Tulare Police Department and Morro Bay Police Department.
The sheriff's office will be conducting an autopsy to determine McClure's cause of death.
