ROY, Utah (KUTV) — Roy's mayor is not sure this will fly, but after a string of small plane crashes in his community, the latest this week, he raised the idea in a 2News interview of moving Ogden-Hinckley Airport.
"If I were king for a day, and had the authority to do that, I'd relocate the airport in west Weber, wide open land," Dandoy said, adding he's discussed it with Weber County commissioners.

The mayor is frustrated with one crash after another stretching back years. 2News archived reports show close to 10 plane crashes near the airport since 1999.
In one of them, a 2News photographer captured the plane flying low, dipping below a building, before it crashed into a car. Amazingly, everyone walked away.
In another crash, all those on board, two married couples, perished.
Dandoy said the crashes have occurred "way too often; it drives me crazy."
On Thursday, teams cut the wreckage from the plane crash on the front lawn of a home near 2300 West 4500 South, and then hauled it away for investigation.
Kim Matthews, a pilot, mechanic, and former flight school owner, directed the retrieval effort.
He said flight path protocols at Ogden Regional could be "tighter" so planes that experience trouble in the air are able to get to a runway. He also said as many as four flight schools operate out of Ogden Regional.
2News emailed questions over safety to the airport's interim director but did not receive replies.
"It (air safety) is outside of my control; it's a tough one," said the mayor.
"But you can beg, you can pry, you can cajole, you can encourage," noted 2News. "Have you done that?"
"More," said Dandoy, "than you can imagine."
