VINEYARD (KUTV) — Three adults and three children were hospitalized after being poisoned by carbon monoxide inside a Vineyard home, authorities said.
Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Office said a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were found unconscious inside a townhome garage early Wednesday morning.
Another woman in her 20s along with a 4-year-old, a 2-year-old and a 9-month-old had sustained carbon monoxide poisoning inside the home.
The carbon monoxide leak was reported at a residence in the area of 300 North and 750 West, where authorities responded around 1 a.m.
Cannon in a statement said that the man was found on the garage floor, and the woman was discovered in the backseat of a vehicle.
The woman was not breathing.
First responders administered CPR and transported the two in critical condition.
The four inside the home were transported as well, though Cannon didn't say what their conditions were or if they were conscious when authorities arrived.
It wasn't clear who contacted officials.
Cannon didn't say if the vehicle in which the woman was found was running.
"This appears to be a carbon monoxide problem," he said in a statement, "but we don't know how the problem happened."
Additional information wasn't immediately provided to 2News.
